The latest transfer speculation regarding Sean Raggett has made Imps fans doubt that the central defender will be at Sincil Bank for the foreseeable future.
Inevitably, because of consistently impressive performances throughout the 2016/17 campaign, he has attracted attention from many league clubs. The likes of West Brom, Norwich and Millwall were all interested in signing the 23 year old.
Rumours are that Sean Raggett has a £350,000 release clause that currently no side has been able to match. Norwich are seemingly favourites, with the Canaries’ interest in the defender stemming back to early June.
The fact that the centre half has stayed with the Imps all through pre-season, and that the opening league game is just around the corner shows the considerable thought that has gone into this transfer.
Raggett for the Imps last season was indispensable. He notched a tally of seven goals and his partnership with fellow defender and skipper Luke Waterfall was paramount for Lincoln’s success.
Given that the season is almost upon us, it would be ideal for Raggett to sign a new deal at Sincil Bank to end the disruption. Obviously though, it will be very hard for the 23 year old to turn down offers from Premier League and Championship clubs, but one thing for sure is that Sean Raggett’s future remains very much in the balance.
